ADA Fit for Work Assessments

Using our patented human performance assessment technology, Simwork Systems establishes federally compliant hiring programs as mandated by the Americans with Disability Act (ADA). Since one of our consultants worked on the writing of the ADA, Simwork Systems has had remarkable success in establishing employer controlled new hire fit for duty assessment programs. Whether the employer chooses to use the pre-employment or post offer options under the act, Simwork Systems can establish a specific test program that is fair, unbiased and defendable from any challenge. By using our reproducible evidentiary based technology instead of the non-defendable "box of weights" approach common with some programs, Simwork Systems protects the integrity of employers hiring program. In fact, our programs have withstood the few challenges that have existed without difficulty thanks to our testing technology.

Defendable Job Analysis Documentation

Simwork Systems is the exclusive worldwide provider of ADA Management System (ADAMS) designed by the late testing pioneer, Dr. Donald Ross of the University of Arizona in 1991. We work with the employer to objectively measure the essential physical demands required for defendable documentation of hiring standards. This service prevents the employer from being challenged on an ADA hiring standards technicality by providing an evidentiary trail that involves both labor and management as required under the act. Best of all, Simwork Systems trains the employer’s staff to use the ADAMS system internally so there is no dependence on outside consultants once the system is in place.

Return to Work Assessments

The Simwork Systems testing technology provides measurable, defendable and reproducible work capacity documentation of any employee in 26 human factors physical demands as defined by the U.S. Department of Labor Handbook for Analyzing Jobs cross referenced with The Human Resources and Skills Development Canada, National Occupational Classification (NOC). The Simwork Systems technology can be used internally by staff kinesiologists, therapists, medical staff and personnel professionals to document the progress (or not) of off work employees. The assessment technology can also be used by contract providers of service under performance standards established by the employer. Return to Work Assessments can be used to monitor whether rehabilitation progress is being made-often referred to as “therapy tracking”; whether the returning injured employee meets minimal hiring standards; whether worker union contract requirements for “full duty” are met; if transitional work program standards need to be set for graduated reintegration of the injured worker; or if the worker meets specific short-term or long-term disability benefit requirements. We provide the employer with managed solutions without dependence on outside organizations.
